Caribbean Island - The Romantic Getaways

Yes, this is what a trip to the Caribbean means to a lot of people around the world. Some call the destination ‘paradise’ and others ‘heaven on earth’. Whatever you choose to call it, the island guarantees you everything that you have been looking for in your getaways. Be it beaches, banks, boats or bikinis, a romantic Caribbean getaway has all the essentials of a tropical vacation.

Located on the tip of South America, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other, the Caribbean comprises coconut tree-clad mountains, seashore galore, verdant valleys of bananas and sugarcane, and movie-like beauty. The Caribbean comprises more than fifty islands, which gives you a wide choice for planning an appropriate romantic Caribbean travel. World-class hotels, restaurants, resorts, shopping, activities and other attractions at Caribbean, together with exotic warm weather make up for an absolutely ecstatic tropical vacation.

St. Lucia
St. Lucia is all about jagged peaks wrapped in velvety tropical plants, and honey-colored beaches sheltered by towering palms. There are colorful blooms everywhere and the breathtaking greenery promises couples, their most memorable romantic walk in a lifetime. The beauty of this place is such that the couples actually feel like Adam and Eve walking hand in hand through the beautiful landscape of Eden. It is a place where every valley, roadside, and hill is a veritable garden. Orange, lime, mango, lemon, coffee, breadfruit, and plum trees beautifully cover the landscape. The beauty of the land fertilizes romance almost immediately. In the shades of tall flame flowers, hibiscus, orchids, and shrimp plants, you will find a million excuses to kiss your beloved on your romantic vacation.

Bahamas

Technically, Bahamas are located outside the Caribbean boundary; however except for a few days when they are cooled be the chilling winter, tourists find it impossible to tell the difference. The Bahamas comprise 700 islands that look like seashells sprinkled across shallow water. These islands share the same sand, sun, and festivity as their southern neighbors. Out of these islands, only 20 are populated and are hot tourist destinations for all age groups.

Bahamas has lots to offer both, families and lovers. If you are targeting rekindling passion in you and your beloved’s hearts, choose from the Family islands such as Eleuthera, Tiny Harbour Island (here motorized transportation means only a golf cart), or San Salvador (renowned site of Columbus’ first landfall). If you are planning a very active vacation, go for Grand Bahama that offers casino gambling, golf, and a chance to swim with the dolphins. You must make a trip to Nassau, Bahamas’ capital city, located on New Providence, for witnessing astonishing glitzy.

Bermuda
Bermuda is not a part of the Caribbean technically, but has everything in common with its southern neighbors. It enjoys the position of being one of the world’s richest countries with semi-tropical climate like that of an island. This, together with a bit of formal British atmosphere makes up for the perfect setting of palm-lined roads connecting the Easter egg-colored houses. From the days of Mark Twain, Bermuda has been the prime attraction for travelers seeing luxurious retreats with temperate winters and warm summers, a golf round and a tennis game. It is fast becoming the favorite of lovers and honeymooners, offering a full range of activities on and off the beach.

Yangtze River

The Yangtze River is the longest river in Asia, and the third longest in the world. It flows for 6,418 kilometres (3,988 mi) from the glaciers on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in Qinghai eastward across southwest, central and eastern China before emptying into the East China Sea at Shanghai. It is also one of the biggest rivers by discharge volume in the world. The Yangtze drains one-fifth of the land area of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and its river basin is home to one-third of the PRC's population

The Western name "Yangtze" comes from the stretch of the river from Yangzhou to Zhenjiang, called the Yangzi in Chinese. This was the name first heard by Western missionaries and traders, particularly by the British, and it has stuck. Technically it is named in honor of the former emperor Yang. Most Chinese will not understand what you mean if you don't use the proper Mandarin title of "Chang Jiang" unless they are familiar with English.
Yangtze River

The Yangtze River also plays a very important role in water transportation. It accounts for more than 80% of freight movement throughout China. The role of navigation will become even more important once the regulating reservoir of the Three Georges Project raises the river level by 10 to 100 meters (33-328 feet) enabling 10,000-ton ocean-going cargo ships and passenger liners to reach Chongqing directly from Shanghai.

The most famous part of this journey is the sensational cruise ships through the Three Gorges area between Chongqing and Yichang. With the recent enormous Three Gorges Dam project, this route has changed considerably but it is still definitely worth doing. However be careful of the different types of boats and classes within those boats.

Traveling on a Chinese tourist boat in 'first class' may not be your idea of 'first class' (one traveler complained of "rats everywhere"). In addition, the only choice for food may be the boat itself for up to 3-days. As such, bring supplies, particularly snacks and drinks for the voyage. If you really want the good experience on the Yangtze, you'd better choose a luxury yangtze cruise in 4 or 5 star rating.
Yangtze River

These luxury cruises fare include all the shore excursions with English speaking guides and all meals on-board except the dinner on the check-in day. Almost all the tourists travelling on those cruises are very satisfied with the journey.Visitors see the sceneries all along the way. Shore excursions involve the sightseeing of some famous attractions in a specific city or county.

Be especially wary of thieves on the cruise boats, using any technique from picking pockets to crawling in portholes to rifle luggage.

Ecuador Travel on The Coast

"Ruta del Sol" is the name of the route that covers Ecuador's coastal area from Puerto Cayo in the northern province of Manabi to the Peninsula of Santa Elena in the south. When putting together an Ecuador travel plan, many people think only of the cities (Quito and Guayaquil), the Galapagos, and perhaps the Amazon. However, the Ecuador coast functions as a complement to adventure tour and as a destination in itself. Lined with endless kilometers of beautiful beaches, excellent surfing spots, and laidback towns, the coast is the perfect place for those seeking to relax.

The coast is roughly bisected at the equator, straddling the line between the northern and southern hemispheres. On the north coast, the city of Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas is the transport hub and access point to the provinces of Esmeraldas and Manabi. Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas and the surrounding areas are also worth a visit, with landscapes ranging from cloud forests to jungles. "Los Tsachila" refers to an ethnic group, also known as "Colorados" or "Reds" because they use achiote to dye their hair and paint their faces. In addition to their red hair, the Tsachila also have distinctive language, healing traditions, and shamanic traditions. Ecuador tours can be arranged to these very interesting communities.

Ecuador

In the north, the province of Esmeralda runs up to the border with Colombia. Mache-Chindul Ecological Reserve and the Cayapas Mataje Reserve are just 2 of the areas designated to protect Ecuador's natural landscape, including the largest mangrove forest in the world. The town of Montecristi in the Manabi province is renowned for its production of Panama hats. Puerto Lopez boasts a whale-watching center. Also in Manabi province is Santa Marianita. Known as Playa Bonita, this is the place to go to enjoy long and wide beaches, sun, and fun.

However, the biggest destination in Manabi province is Montanita, a top Ecuador travel destination for surfing. This beach town is renowned for its nightlife drawing international travelers as well as Ecuadorians seeking a getaway. Hotels and restaurants line the main streets and are available for any budget. La Punta, the break that draws surfers like a magnet, is not so great for swimming, but there are suitable beaches within walking distance. Other water sports include windsurfing, scuba diving, and waterskiing. Between December and May, Montanita is hosts to surfing competitions. Nearby attractions are Machalilla National Park, Los Frailes beach, and Puerto Lopez for whale watching.

Barcelona, The Place to Love and Relax

Barcelona is not only a contemporary and fashionable city, it is also very liberated and this is clearly shown in its magnetism to celebrated artists and architects, where they take roots and become a part of the city in the form of its art and architecture.

Barcelona houses many great painters and sculptors and they are instrumental in contributing to its superiority over other cities in the form of architecture and art galleries. Pablo Picasso and Tapies both have museums dedicated to their works which will take weeks if not months for you to fully visit. Stretching from La Ramblas covering the old port of Barcelona and the Placa Catalunya, a whole day can be dedicated to walking around the Barri Gothic Quarter with no need to go any further as there plenty to see and do. Wander around the webs of the narrow paths sandwiched between tall buildings which lead to delightful squares, and then take a rest in one of the alfresco cafes full of bustling tapas joints in the area.

Hailed as the creator of several techniques applied in contemporary construction in the twentieth century, the important and ingenious influences of Antoni Gaudi have unquestionably molded Barcelonian architecture. Any architectural trip has to start with Antoni Gaudi, the greatest Catalan architect there ever was.

The must see Gaudi masterpiece is Park Guell, which dates back to 1900 when Eusebi Guell commissioned him to construct a garden city proposed for the cream of the society. Gaudi was very much motivated by nature and this is reflected in the curved construction stones, twisted iron effigies and animate shapes. There are some notable examples in the park including the Gaudi dragon fountain at the entrance adorned in vividly coloured tiling, and Casa Museu Gaudi, the dwelling where Gaudi spent most of his time in. The top of the park can be accessed by a steep climb but it is worth it as you will get an amazing view of the park and the city. There are all types of public spaces to enjoy in the city such as the beaches and parks. Its open spaces can be enjoyed simultaneously by the young or old, from the promenades to the well known Guell Park, and the other would be Park de la Ciudadella, a park in Ciutat Vella famous for its galleries and boating lake.

Make sure you take the Tramvia Blau up Tibidabo Mountain for the amazing views and fun cycling tours where you can discover the natural environment. If you have time left the Funicular de Tibidabo, which will take you all the way to the amusement park at the top, with most of the rides built around 1889, giving the park a traditional ambiance. In addition to architecture, Barcelona is also embraced for its art of living it up at night, where there is a variety of bars and pubs covering virtually every theme for all flavours and budgets.

Barri Gothic and Las Ramblas, both in the city centre, have a wonderful Gothic atmosphere thus exceptionally favoured by foreigners as well as locals. The area is full of cool clubs and bars, and also a wide selection of chic spots together with the usual tourist places. Barcelona also has a great Erasmus scene where you can make new friends quickly and party in selected venues. There is a predominantly distinct electro scene, which is reflected by the number of clubs that thump away all week. There are not a lot of live music venues in the city, however blues and hip hop and alternative are also represented, plus Latin clubs with their salsa are also popular.

Keep in mind that during bank holidays, Christmas, New Year and summer holidays are the peak seasons and will be more expensive than if you choose a weekend break at another time of the year.

Barcelona provides a wide variety of different accommodation types and you should do some homework beforehand to find out what is there.
